This Privacy Policy explains how RMK Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Sudoku (the “App”), package name net.rmkstudio.sudoku.

Information the App handles

• Game progress: The App saves an active puzzle and progress, including the puzzle state, notes, difficulty, elapsed time, and mistakes, in app preferences on your device so you can resume it. The App does not send puzzle grids or entered cell values to our game servers or include them in the analytics events we define. Android backup settings may include app data in device backups.
• Analytics: The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand usage and improve the App. It records screen views and events such as starting, resuming, and completing a puzzle, using a hint, and changing notes mode. Events we define can include game mode, difficulty, whether a game was completed, duration, mistake count, and hint source. Firebase may also automatically collect app-instance identifiers, device and app information, and usage data as described in Google’s Firebase documentation.
• Diagnostics: The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and related diagnostic information, which can include crash stack traces, app state, device information, and identifiers used to understand and diagnose crashes.

Advertising

The App displays interstitial ads and may offer rewarded ads using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). A rewarded ad may be offered in connection with an in-game hint. Google Mobile Ads automatically collects and shares information that may include your IP address (which can be used to estimate general location), ad and other product interactions (such as app launches, taps, and video views), diagnostic information (such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy use), and device or account identifiers (including Android Advertising ID and App Set ID). Google uses this information to deliver ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and support analytics. Google states that information collected by the Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.

Depending on your location, consent choices, and available ad inventory, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to update consent information and present consent messages when required. When Google indicates that a privacy options form is required, a control in the App lets you reopen it. You can also reset or limit your device’s advertising identifier in Android settings. Even non-personalized ads may use identifiers or storage for purposes such as frequency capping and aggregated reporting.

How information is used and shared

We use the information described above to save your game locally, understand how the App is used, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and provide and measure advertising. Firebase and Google Mobile Ads are provided by Google. These services may collect and share information with Google and its service providers for the purposes described in this policy. Information may be processed in countries where Google or its service providers operate. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and choices

Game progress remains in app storage until it is cleared or replaced by the App. You can clear the App’s storage in your device settings or uninstall the App; Android device backup behavior may affect whether app data is restored. Firebase retains data according to the settings for our Firebase project and Google’s applicable retention policies.

You can control or reset your device’s advertising identifier through Android settings and revisit consent choices through the App’s privacy options. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically designed or directed to children. It does not require an account or ask users to provide their name, email address, or age. The analytics and advertising services described above may process device, app usage, and ad interaction information from people who use the App, including children. We rely on platform and service-provider safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
